The Administration Building

The fourth of the major buildings to be erected on the home of the August Fraternity was the Administration building built in 1934. Because of the growth of the August Fraternity and the Great Work in America and throughout the world, an administration building became necessary.

The Administration building houses the Department of Instruction, a consultation room, the Council Room and the small staff that administer the day-to-day operations of Beverly Hall. It also contains a waiting room for students waiting their turn for an interview or consultation.

 In 1949, the Central News‑Herald of Perkasie, PA described the Administration Building in this manner:

“The large Administration building has three main offices and a number of smaller rooms for conferences (the Council chamber) and study.

Beverly Hall definitely is the ‘bookiest’ private place imaginable. In the large office of the Administration building are bookshelves on three walls virtually from floor to ceiling. Here are works of the medical profession, ancient and modern history of the human race. These books are used largely for reference in the administration of the Order.

Among the collection of books are rare copies, in fact, the Order has been preserving rare works since it was founded in 1614. A number of the books represent the only copies known to be in existence.

One of the oldest sets of books was authored by Robert Fludd. It was written in Latin and hand‑printed 300 years before the era of printing.”

The Administration building has changed little since the time this news article was written.

The consultation room houses a private medical and Esoteric library. Consultations and interviews are always by appointment. The many duties of the staff require that every detail must be in order to avoid waste of time. One of the fundamental teachings of the Order is that the waste of time is destructive (a sin) and consequently is to be avoided. Order is Heaven’s first Law.

The Council Chamber resides on the upper floor and contains another library of many spiritual books and arcane works.
